Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University Receives Honor from Department of Disease Control for Malaria Elimination Partnership
The Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, received a plaque of honor from the Department of Disease Control as a network partner organization in the joint effort to eliminate malaria in Thailand and participated in the World Malaria Day 2025 campaign activities.
On April 25, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Veerapong Phumiratanprapin, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, received the plaque of honor from Dr. Sorawit Thanito, Advisor to the Minister of Public Health. The recognition was presented to express gratitude for being a network partner organization in the joint malaria elimination efforts in Thailand and for continuously supporting the malaria eradication mission during the World Malaria Day 2025 campaign activities organized by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of eliminating malaria from the country under the theme “Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.”
On this occasion, Mr. Anaj Khamsirivatra, Director of the Center of Excellence in Biomedical and Public Health Informatics (BIOPHICS), Faculty of Tropical Medicine, participated in presenting an exhibition showcasing the application of information technology to support the goal of ending malaria in Thailand and globally at the Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel, Nonthaburi Province.
